Appearances
Rooms, stages and conversations.
Places where I have spoken, listened, taught or built in public.
Night School has run since 2018, with 500+ sessions and the next room already scheduled.
Why it exists
Rooms are where most of this work is actually made, so the record of them belongs here.
It also tells organisers what kind of room I am useful in.
Core idea
A room should leave with a better question than it arrived with.
Attendance is not the metric. What someone does the next week is.
Evidence
The standing rooms:
How I think about it
I prefer facilitating to presenting. A monologue is a weak use of everyone's evening.
The smallest rooms have produced the biggest changes.
How it works
Night School is free and open to all, scheduled on nightschool.live.
For other rooms, get in touch with the audience and the question you want answered.

Questions and tensions
Fact: Night School began in 2018 and has held 500+ sessions.
Interpretation: Consistency has done more than any single big stage.
Experiment: Running a free weekly room for years without a funnel behind it.
Ambition: Rooms that keep running when I am not in them.
Last reviewed: September 2026.
